Women in Art Exhibition

It is that time of year again. March is marching closer, and with it, I have my artwork being part of the Women in Art Exhibition at the Kariton Art Gallery. The piece chosen for the show is titled “Rooting Through Garbage/Rooting Through Dreams.” It’s a new work in the flavour of my Geisha Girl Survivor series. I have two green Sapporo Ichiban noodle packages (chicken-flavour) and a red shrimp-chip wrapper that I burnt over a flame and fashioned into a headpiece for the geisha in the painting. The silver flavour packets from Ichiban noodles are also burnt and cut into pieces to create dangling hair adornments. The exhibition will be going from March 2 to March 28. There is also a new gallery opened that is part of the show that is called Open Space Abbotsford and artwork there will be displayed from March 9 to March 28.
