In a Word Art Exhibition

I am happy to share that I will be part of the In a Word Art Exhibition at the Kariton Art Gallery that goes from February 7 to February 28. The theme for this show was a fun challenge. These were the submission criteria that artists all had to abide by in creating the work for this show:

• The word must appear somewhere in the artwork at least once.

• While we understand the temptation, no curse words please!

• No slurs or anything that could be construed as hate speech, or derogatory language towards any group.

• The word can be in any language – if your word is not in English, please tell us the meaning in your artist statement.

• Only one word please!

My work centres around the word “Nomimasu.” It is the polite form of saying “to drink” in Japanese. When you take a sip of water, drink in the gratitude of a glass half full. Drink in each breath of air; taste the deliciousness of life. Drink in each particle of love of friends, family, and community. Drink in the wonderous parts of the world and your connection to the universe. Nomimasu!

There will be an open house on Saturday, February 7 from noon to 2 p.m. if you want to come check it out and meet some of the artists.
